Below we have listed all of the latest Grappling Industries weight classes used at their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi and no gi tournaments.
Visit our IFBJJ / AFBJJ / QBJJC weight divisions page for weight divisions used by those organisations.
Grappling Industries approach to weight divisions
There are important differences between Grappling Industries weight classes and those used by other organisations so don’t assume that you know your division limits. Additionally, Grappling Industries does not use different weight limits for their gi and no gi events.
Note that these weight classes are the absolute limit permitted at your weigh-in time. You are weighed fully dressed in your uniform and no flexibility will be offered from officials if you ‘miss weight’.
In the tables below you will see a negative symbol (-) before most weights. That indicates that you must be under the weight shown to qualify. So, -49 kg means you must be under 49kg. If you weigh exactly 49kg then you are too heavy for that division.
‘Absolutes’ divisions are at the bottom.

These are the official limits that Grappling Industries will use for each ‘weights and measures’ system (imperial or metric – depending on your region). Pay attention to the division you are registering in. Don’t bother digging out a calculator on tournament day and trying to argue that their kilos to pounds conversion is not precise – make your weight!
Other BJJ Events
Other tournament and event organisers will have their own weight classes that you will need to consult when entering. That includes the ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club).
