CAZA BJJ Finally Reopening After Quarantine
June 1, 2020Post Quarantine Belt Promotions at CAZA BJJ
July 29, 2020The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Well, it has been announced at least!
From midday on Friday, July 3rd 2020, CAZA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can resume normal classes. And yes, this includes sparring.
There are some new and important details though…
COVID-19 plan still in effect
Please note, that while we are able to return to training, parts of the COVID-19 plan remain in force.
Here are the key points for CAZA members:
- Our gym is under 200 sqm. We can, therefore, have up to 50 people in the gym at one time.
- We are going to maintain the ‘no spectator’ rule for now as part of our risk minimisation strategy. The exception being one parent or guardian for the supervision of kids with special needs.
- Continue to use hand sanitiser prior to stepping onto the mats.
- Please come into the gym close to class time, and leave soon after it ends. Important when two classes are back-to-back.
- You must sign in and out at the desk each time you enter the gym – this is a legal requirement.
- You must wear footwear to the gym (this includes any children). No footwear = no entry. No exceptions.
- Classes which have another class is following immediately after will actually end 5 minutes early to allow for cleaning of the mats.
Please help us stay within the guidelines by respecting these rules.
Adults get started on Friday 3rd of July
While membership fees won’t restart until Monday 6th (see below), adult classes will resume at 12:30 pm on Friday 3rd. Additionally, Saturday’s 7:00 am class and 10:30 am no-gi class will also be running. Don’t be afraid to show up for Monday’s 6:00 am class either 🙂
We will be updating the timetable page on Friday when the normal schedule finally resumes.
New rule being trialed for adult members
While the restrictions are still in place, we have decided to trial a new rule for adult members. Effective immediately, the Intro & Fundamentals classes will be for white belts only.
If a white belt wants to train at the all-levels classes, that is fine – if they have Yoshi’s approval, but they can only attend one class per night. You can’t do both classes back-to-back (this is also, in part, a risk management concern given the current restrictions).
Open mat and no-gi classes remain mixed and any belt rank is welcome to attend.
IMPORTANT: Membership direct debits are restarting
Starting Monday, 6th of July 2020, membership fee direct debits will resume for all members UNLESS you let us know in advance that you want to continue to pause or cancel your membership. This applies to adult and kids members.
Should you choose to continue pausing your membership, a maximum of 6 weeks can be requested (as per standard contract terms). Should you need to extend beyond 6 weeks, a $5/week holding fee will apply.
Contact us now if you would like to pause or cancel your membership.
Otherwise, see you on the mats soon!
