CAZA BJJ Noosa Adult Grading Day December 2021
January 8, 2022CAZA BJJ Noosa Adult Grading Day June 2022
June 26, 2022We are very pleased to announce that Drop Bear Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has now joined CAZA BJJ as an affiliate of our club.
Why two brands?
Our arrangement is a simple one which allows Drop Bear BJJ to maintain their independence while falling under the CAZA umbrella for competition. This means that Drop Bear members will now represent CAZA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at all events and tournaments.
Drop Bear BJJ are still free to use the own branding at their club, on their merchandise and when promoting their gym. For example, when you check out their social media you will still see the Drop Bear branding, but posts may be co-branded occasionally.
Keep your eye out for the CAZA gis and rashies or CAZA patches on Drop Bear gis come comp day – we will all be CAZA! And don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to your new teammates when you see an unfamiliar face wearing CAZA or Drop Bear merch.
Does anything else change?
From a BJJ hierarchy standpoint this arrangement allows CAZA head coach Yoshi Hasegawa, being a third-degree blackbelt, to promote Drop Bear blackbelts if need be. This is significant as the rules for promoting blackbelts in particular are strict.
It is important to remember that when you join either CAZA or Drop Bear that the membership agreements are independent. Being a member of one gym does not mean you are a member of the other. We are a team, but the gyms themselves operate independently.
